常见失误: Many learners say z, d, or v instead; use the same tongue-behind-the-teeth position as in think, but let your voice buzz through it.

英语里最小、最轻的元音：嘴几乎不动，舌头就放在中间休息。
常见失误: Many learners give the unstressed syllable its full spelling vowel; instead let the mouth barely move and the tongue rest in the middle, short and quiet.

拼写 er · ir · ur · or unstressed (doctor, color) · ear (learn, earth) · ar unstressed (dollar, sugar)
舌头在口腔中部拱起或向后卷，不碰任何地方，r 的色彩贯穿整个元音。
常见失误: Many learners either drop the r or trill it; in American English, bunch or curl the tongue and keep that r quality running through the whole vowel.

舌根贴住上颚，声音从鼻腔出去；结尾什么都不释放。
常见失误: Many learners add a hard g or finish on an n; rest the back of your tongue on the roof of your mouth and release nothing at the end.

通常错在哪里
两个 'th' 音
英语有清音 'th'（think）和浊音 'th'（this）。有其中任何一个的语言都很少。两者位置相同：舌尖抵上齿，气流从上面流过，舌头从不弹动。唯一的区别：'this' 出声震动，'think' 不出声。
你的母语可能合并的元音对
英语元音比大多数语言多，所以 'ship'/'sheep'、'cat'/'bed'、'cup'/'cat' 这些对子可能塌成一个音。要改的通常不是舌头，而是元音开多大、拖多长、多放松。'see' 长而紧、嘴唇展开；'sit' 短而松。
词重音和 schwa
英语里一个单词只有一个音节是重的，其余常常缩成 schwa，也就是 'about' 里那个嘴几乎不动的弱元音。如果每个音节都给足分量，听起来虽然认真，却很外国。学会放松弱音节，和练好任何一个音同样重要。
词尾辅音和辅音群
很多语言很少用辅音结尾，英语却一直这么做，还会叠起来：'world' 以 rld 结尾，'friend' 以 nd 结尾。丢掉词尾会改变意思，所以哪怕轻一点，也值得把每个尾音都发出来。'sing' 里的 'ng' 结尾什么都不释放。
拼写不等于发音
英语拼写是很糟糕的发音指南。同样的字母可以是不同的音（现在时的 'read' 和过去时的 'read'），不同的字母也可以是同一个音。所以 TonePerfect 逐音评估你实际说出的声音，而不是让你相信拼写。
