和 'think' 一樣舌頭抵在齒後，但聲音從中震出來。
常見失誤: Many learners say z, d, or v instead; use the same tongue-behind-the-teeth position as in think, but let your voice buzz through it.

拼法 r · rr · wr (write, wrong) · rh (rhythm)
舌頭向後捲或在口腔中段拱起，不碰任何地方，嘴唇稍稍圓一點。
常見失誤: Many learners tap or trill the tongue; instead curl it back or bunch it in the middle of your mouth so it touches nothing, with lips slightly rounded.

常見失誤: Many learners stretch it into the long vowel of see; keep it short and loose, with the tongue a little lower and the mouth relaxed.

常見失誤: Many learners cut it short toward sit; hold it longer, push the tongue high and forward, and spread your lips as if you were smiling.

常見失誤: Many learners use the vowel of bed instead; drop your jaw low while keeping the tongue forward, so the mouth is wide and flat.

常見失誤: Many learners let the top teeth touch the lower lip, turning we into a v; round your lips into a small circle and slide straight into the vowel.

常見失誤: Many learners replace it with w or f; rest your top teeth on your lower lip and let the voice buzz through the gap so you can hold the sound.

英文裡最小、最輕的母音：嘴幾乎不動，舌頭就放在中間休息。
常見失誤: Many learners give the unstressed syllable its full spelling vowel; instead let the mouth barely move and the tongue rest in the middle, short and quiet.

拼法 er · ir · ur · or unstressed (doctor, color) · ear (learn, earth) · ar unstressed (dollar, sugar)
舌頭在口腔中段拱起或向後捲，不碰任何地方，r 的色彩貫穿整個母音。
常見失誤: Many learners either drop the r or trill it; in American English, bunch or curl the tongue and keep that r quality running through the whole vowel.

拼法 ng · n before k (think, bank) · n before g (finger, English)
舌根貼住上顎，聲音從鼻腔出去；結尾什麼都不釋放。
常見失誤: Many learners add a hard g or finish on an n; rest the back of your tongue on the roof of your mouth and release nothing at the end.

兩個 'th' 音
英文有清音 'th'（think）和濁音 'th'（this）。有其中任何一個的語言都很少。兩者位置相同：舌尖抵上齒，氣流從上面流過，舌頭從不彈動。唯一的差別：'this' 出聲震動，'think' 不出聲。
你的母語可能合併的母音對
英文母音比大多數語言多，所以 'ship'/'sheep'、'cat'/'bed'、'cup'/'cat' 這些對子可能塌成一個音。要改的通常不是舌頭，而是母音開多大、拉多長、多放鬆。'see' 長而緊、嘴唇展開；'sit' 短而鬆。
字重音和 schwa
英文裡一個單字只有一個音節是重的，其餘常常縮成 schwa，也就是 'about' 裡那個嘴幾乎不動的弱母音。如果每個音節都給足分量，聽起來雖然認真，卻很外國。學會放鬆弱音節，和練好任何一個音同樣重要。
字尾子音和子音群
很多語言很少用子音結尾，英文卻一直這麼做，還會疊起來：'world' 以 rld 結尾，'friend' 以 nd 結尾。丟掉字尾會改變意思，所以哪怕輕一點，也值得把每個尾音都發出來。'sing' 裡的 'ng' 結尾什麼都不釋放。
拼字不等於發音
英文拼字是很糟糕的發音指南。同樣的字母可以是不同的音（現在式的 'read' 和過去式的 'read'），不同的字母也可以是同一個音。所以 TonePerfect 逐音評估你實際說出的聲音，而不是要你相信拼字。
