Free pronunciation test widget for your website or class
Add a working pronunciation test to any page that accepts HTML — Google Sites, WordPress, Moodle, Canvas, a class blog. Each student says five words, gets a score for every word and hears which sound needs work. Pick a language and a size, copy the code, paste it. No account, no key, free.

How to add it
- Google Sites: Insert → Embed → “Embed code”, paste, then drag the box to the size you want.
- WordPress: add a “Custom HTML” block and paste the code.
- Moodle, Canvas and other LMSs: open the editor’s HTML / source view on a page or label and paste. Some installations strip iframes — if nothing shows, ask your administrator to allow toneperfect.app, or link to the test instead.
- Any other site: paste the code where HTML is allowed. The widget resizes to the width of its column.
Limits, honestly
The widget asks for the microphone inside your page (the code includes allow="microphone"). Free takes are limited per network as well as per browser: about 20 an hour (60 for English) from one internet connection, so a whole class on one school Wi-Fi runs out after a few students. It works best for practice at home, not for everyone at once in the classroom.
Students do not create accounts in the widget. Want class codes, assignments and progress per student? That is TonePerfect for Schools.

Every widget is the short version of a full test page you can link to or assign:
FAQ
Is the widget really free?+
Yes. There is no account, key or fee, and students do not sign in. Free takes are capped per browser and per internet connection so the scoring service stays up for everyone; see the limits above.
Do I have to keep the TonePerfect credit line?+
No. The builder adds a small “Pronunciation test by TonePerfect” line by default so your readers know where the test comes from; untick it to paste only the widget. The credit link is marked rel="nofollow".
What do students see?+
Five words in the language you pick, a microphone button, and a score for each word as they say it. At the end the widget names the sound that came out weakest and offers more practice on TonePerfect, which opens in a new tab so your page stays where it is.
What is the score based on?+
Each word is scored by the same AI pronunciation engine as the full tests on toneperfect.app, sound by sound, against a standard native reference for that language (for English, standard American English).
Why does the microphone not start on my site?+
The embed code includes allow="microphone", which the browser needs to let the widget ask for the mic. Some site builders and LMS editors strip that attribute or block iframes entirely; if that happens, link to the test page instead (for example toneperfect.app/english/pronunciation-test) or ask your administrator to allow iframes from toneperfect.app.
Can a whole class use it at the same time?+
Not well: free takes are limited per internet connection, and a school Wi-Fi counts as one connection, so a class all testing at once runs out after a few students. It works best for homework and practice at home. For whole-class use, see TonePerfect for Schools.
