Why does the voice sound different on my phone?
Each browser and OS ships its own voices. Chrome, Edge and Safari all include good Mandarin voices; the tool automatically picks a zh-CN voice over Cantonese or Taiwanese-accented ones.
Can it read pinyin aloud?
Paste hanzi for natural results — Mandarin voices read Latin letters as foreign words. If you only have pinyin, convert it to characters first or use our pinyin converter in reverse.
