Chinese Zodiac Calculator
Enter your birth year to find your Chinese zodiac animal, its element, and lucky years.
The Chinese zodiac (生肖) is a 12-year cycle, each year represented by an animal: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Your sign is decided by your birth year.
Each year also carries one of five elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water — that cycle every ten years, so a full combination (e.g. Wood Dragon) repeats only every 60 years.
How is my Chinese zodiac decided?
By your birth year on the Chinese calendar. Note: the Chinese New Year falls in late January or February, so if you were born in January or early February, your sign may be the previous year animal.
What is the element?
A second cycle of five elements (木火土金水). Combined with the animal it gives a 60-year cycle used in Chinese astrology.
